CADILLAC FORMULA 1® TEAM APPOINTS MARCIN BUDKOWSKI AS NEW TEAM PRINCIPAL

INDIANAPOLIS, USA and SILVERSTONE, UK (August 12, 2026) – The Cadillac Formula 1® Team today announced Marcin Budkowski has been appointed as its new Team Principal, strengthening the organization’s leadership team as it continues its inaugural Formula 1® season.

Budkowski joins the team with more than two decades of F1 experience and will help lead the team’s continued operational growth and long-term competitive development. His appointment follows a planned leadership transition as the organization evolves from its initial build phase into the next stage of racing performance.

Budkowski’s F1 experience spans engineering, regulatory and executive leadership. His career has included senior roles with Prost, Ferrari, McLaren, the FIA and Renault/Alpine, where he helped lead the team's transition into the Alpine era while serving as executive director and board member. Throughout his career, the 49-year-old Polish / French engineer has worked across multiple championship-winning organizations, overseeing engineering, technical, sporting and operational functions while helping shape the future direction of F1 through team and regulatory leadership. The polyglot is widely recognized throughout the paddock for his expertise in technical development, competition strategy and organizational leadership, and has recently been advising teams, drivers and motorsport organizations across the global racing industry.

The Cadillac Formula 1® Team returns to the track following the summer break, entering the Dutch Grand Prix race next weekend (August 21 – 23) with valuable learnings from the first half of its debut season and a sharpened focus on the next phase of its competitive journey.
