CADILLAC FORMULA 1® TEAM HONORS MARIO ANDRETTI WITH INAUGURAL CHASSIS

February 27, 2026 – Indianapolis, Indiana and Silverstone, UK – The Cadillac Formula 1® Team today announced its inaugural Formula 1 chassis will carry the designation MAC-26, or Mario Andretti Cadillac 26, honoring 1978 Formula 1 World Champion Mario Andretti and his lasting influence on the team’s formation and competitive ambition. The confirmation comes on the eve of Mario’s 86th birthday, February 28.

The chassis name recognizes Andretti’s legacy while establishing a standard of excellence that guides the organization as it prepares for its debut season. The tribute reinforces a forward-looking identity rooted in performance and the pursuit of results at the highest level of motorsport, coupled with a humility, humanity and passion.

The Cadillac Formula 1® Team, founded by TWG Motorsports and General Motors, will make its race debut next week at the Australian Grand Prix, marking the start of its historic first season. The team recently unveiled its race livery and will compete with drivers Checo Pérez and Valtteri Bottas as it begins competition at the pinnacle of global motorsport.
