ZANDVOORT. SHAPED BY THE SURFACE.
Zandvoort combines old-school flow with modern intervention. Banked corners create unique load characteristics, allowing drivers to carry speed in unconventional ways while placing additional stress through tyres and suspension. The lap is narrow and technical, with limited space for overtaking and little margin for correction. Precision through the high-speed sections becomes essential, particularly where banking encourages commitment beyond visual reference points. Wind from the nearby coastline can influence car stability, especially through faster corners where direction changes hit suddenly. Sand carried onto the track surface reduces grip off-line, reinforcing the importance of positioning. Downforce is prioritised for cornering performance, but balancing that with straight-line efficiency remains key for defending positions into the few viable overtaking zones. Zandvoort rewards those who can follow the natural rhythm of the circuit — and punish those who try to force their own.
