Behind the scenes
As America’s Team, we celebrated our first race on home soil with a fan event at Jungle Plaza in the heart of Miami’s Design District.
MIAMI. SPEED & SPECTACLE.
Set around Hard Rock Stadium, the Miami International Autodrome mixes long straights with tight, technical sections that break rhythm. Drivers move constantly between high-speed commitment and precise traction work, most notably through the slow chicane in the middle sector where positioning and car compliance are critical.
Surface grip remains relatively low and evolves unevenly across the weekend, placing emphasis on tire preparation and adaptability. In high temperatures, managing rear tire overheating becomes a defining factor particularly on corner exit, where traction is easily lost.
The long back straight creates one of the circuit’s primary overtaking opportunities, with slipstream playing a significant role into the heavy braking zone at the end of the straight. That braking phase rewards confidence, but instability — especially on worn tire — can quickly compromise track position. Thermal management also plays a role. Ambient heat increases demands on both the car and the driver, adding another layer of complexity over a race distance.
In Miami, performance is shaped by control. The most competitive cars are not just fast in isolation, but stable across changing grip, temperature, and rhythm.
